ClASS IN EN WI RET HELD Twentieth Renewal to Attract Rep-representative Band of Horses. Dellor Will Not Face Barrier in Latonias Saturday Feature Just Frank Among Starters. LATONIA, Ky., June 24. A small but representative array of- three-year-olds and upward are in prospect for the twentieth running of the ,500 added Enquirer Handicap, which is over the mile and a sixteenth route and serves as the headline attraction on Saturday afternoons offering at Latonia. Present indications point to a field of ten at the best, for the stake, which was inaugurated in 1918 and has been renewed annually since then and has been captured by many famous thoroughbreds in the past. Decision of trainer J. M. Goode to refrain from sending Dellor in quest of the honors, prevents that three-year-old brown colt from having the opportunity of duplicating the feat of his sire, Rolled Stocking, which defeated Hiram and Lancer in 1928 to gain the purse and the silver trophy donated by Edward B. McLean. Because of the recent speedy and impressive : winning performance of J. J. Farrells Just Frank, the four-year-old chestnut son of Justice F; Baby Face is certain to be strongly considered, and it is not unlikely that, the Memphis-owned racer will be installed one of the choices. LIKELY CONTESTANTS. Virtually the same field that Just Frank trounced in the Optimists International Purse Tuesday afternoon will form the opposition for Just Frank in the Enquirer, judging from the present outlook. Others considered as likely to accept the issue Saturday are Woodberry, Dnieper, Arabs Arrow, Little Nymph, Snow Fairy, Silk Mask, Wise Bessa, and Compensatory. J. B. "Rome" Respess two eligibles, Snow Fairy and Main Man, were the only eligibles of the group to engage in a trial of any consequence. Main Man was most impressive in his performance this morning, when he was timed a mile in 1:41, handily, while Snow Fairy, winner of her last start here, went the same route in 1:42, handily. Main Man reeled off the eight furlongs in the following fractions, quarter in :23; half in :47; five eighths in :59; three-quarters in 1:12; seven-eighths; in 1:25, which was one of the outstanding trials recorded over the fast course during the training period. Though Main Man displayed more speed than his stable companion in the trial, Snow Fairy is regarded as the most reliable of the two eligibles from the veteran Cincinnati turfmans stable for the Enquirer Handicap. . Following is the probable field, with weights and probable riders: Woodberry ....105.. J. McCoy Just Frank 104... H. Schutte Arabs Arrow 101 Dnieper ...115 ..P. Roberts Little Nymph 107. . ... .W. L. Johnson Snow Fairy ......106 E. Rodriguez Silk Mask..., ....If.... 108 T. Dickinson Wise Bessa . ... 96 Compensatory 103 ...E. Yager
