SWEET TOKALON was steadied along for the first half mile, moved up gradually thereafter and, gaining clear sailing; on the inside through the stretch, was up in the closing stride. LADY MILLY Was kept within striking distance of the early leaders, moved up on the inside when HALO and TAKA WALK went wide and, gaining the lead, held on willingly and just failed to last. SPURLIN dropped back in the opening eighth and came with a belated rush in the last eighth. HALO had her accustomed early speed, went wide approaching the stretch and was unable to keep pace. TAKA WALK had good speed while forcing the -pace and tired in the closing test. PRETTY PAL was away slowly and trailed far back. DOE GIRL was quickest to begin, met early opposition from UNFURL during the opening quarter mile, and -drew clear. He was rated along in front but never seriously threatened, although ridden out smartly through the last eighth. UNFURL, in nearest pursuit of the winner throughout, held on gamely to the close. DIXIE FLAPPER was forwardly placed all the way and held on with good energy to the end, although unable to threaten the first two. LOVE POTION was slow to settle into her best stride but closed with good energy in the last eighth. CANAVIA, slower than usual during the early part of the trip, made up soma ground. GRAPE THIEF took command at once, drew clear before leaving the back stretch and, rated along in front, held on gamely to the end. HOMBURG, shuffled back at the start, drove into contention in the first three-sixteenths and continued stubbornly to the end, although no match for the winner. MANY STINGS, prominently placed, closed with good energy in the stretch drive. CLAP IN was impeded sharply midway of the turn and his rider was afraid to take up sharply. He was then taken to the outside and closed with a rush. WEARY FLOWER had good early speed, faltering in the last three-sixteenths. LANDLUBBER wa knocked back in the opening strides. SPARKLING EYES was in closest pursuit of the winner from the outset, and held on gamely to the end. MISS APPREHEND, outran until reaching the stretch, closed with a belated rush. ROYAL RHAPSODY dwelt slightly at the start, moved up fast, but tired from her efforts in the last three-sixteenths. SPINDLETO? was never prominent. Overweight Royal Rhapsody, 1 pound. HEELFLY, unruly at the post, was started from outside the stalls, would not extend himself for the first half mile, appeared to sulk, began improving his speed rounding the far turn, soon raced into a contending position and, wearing down the leaders, drew out steadily in the last eighth. CLINGENDAAL was rated along back of the pace established by SORCERESS, went to the front when called upon and, despite holding on willingly, was unable to cope with the winner. BROWN PRODIGY was well placed early, dropped back wlvile restrained in the run down the back stretch and came gamely in the drive. HOLLUSCHICKIE was well placed and reserved, but faltered after going three-quarters. SORCERESS quit badly after displaying good speed in pacemaking. BABY SWEEP followed along in closest pursuit of the pace established by STRANGE TIMES,, wore down the latter in the closing strides and had enough left to withstand the bid of PEEDEEQUE. The latter was far back until leaving the back stretch, came with a rush on the outside through the stretch and fell short a stride or so of overtaking the winner. STRANGE TIMES drew into a- long lead and held on in more determined fashion than usual in the closing drive. WACOCHE was well placed for the first three-quarters, but was unable to close any ground ?n the final test. FLAGSTONE was unable to enter into serious contention. MIXWELL was hard rijBen throughout, saved all possible ground and finished with good energy. GOOD OMEN raced to the front and opened up a good lead, but tired slightly in the last quarter mile. CAMPILLO moved up steadily ft the outside after going the opening eighths, loomed up threateningly midway of the turn only to tire in the last five-sixteenths. MARSON was going stoutly at the end. LADY DEMOCRAT, restrained until the last half mile, moved up threateningly, bore to the inside when straightening out ihto the stretch, but was unable to make up any ground during the drive. PASS SHOT, far back for the first- half, came stoutly in the last five-sixteenths. CUSTER had speed from the. start, was taken back and, restrained for the first five-eighths, moved up resolutely when called upon only to tire in the last three-sixteenths. MAD FRUMP was unable to enter into contention. MORPHEUS faltered in the final quarter. 0ANDIMATE was forced to take up when in close quarters. Scratched 43397 Big Show, 108; 43564 Sighting Bar 112.
