JUSTA JANE failed to keep pace with the leaders in the early part, did not begin to move up until rounding the stretch turn, responded gamely and finished with a bold rush to wear down CHARLES J. The latter took a slight lead a sixteenth from the wire but could not hold the winner. SUE JONES showed speed from the outset and continued gamely to the end. TAXIMAN made up some ground. LOTTA WELLES followed the early pace set by BRITISH MISS while under strong restraint, raced to the front easily while leaving the back stretch, opened up a winning lead and won as her rider pleased. OLAMARA, rated behind the leaders, came stoutly in the stretch, but never threatened the winner. RITA R. closed some ground in the stretch. SALLY SHORE made up a little ground. DAMICA followed the pace of SELDOMGO, obtained a slight lead before reaching the eighth post and, under a hard drive, outstayed ELBA MAID. The latter was quickest to start, dropped back slightly, wore down SELDOMGO challenged the winner midway of the stretch but was held safe at the end. HI-PEGGY, well back early, came with good speed in the stretch, but could not reach the first two. BEAUTIFUL GEAN broke fast, dropped back slightly and raced evenly thereafter. SELDOMGO quit badly. DOER, showing a liking for the track, was rated in behind the leaders until coming out of the back, stretch, came to the outside of FIELD MOUSE for the drive and was going away at the end. FIELD MOUSE, taken under slight restraint when outrun by KARAME, went into the lead midway of the back stretch, opened up a nice lead but tired slightly in the stretch. He was easily the best of the others. KARAME showed good early speed but tired steadily in the drive. SANDALMAN failed to reach the leaders at any stage. The latter, slow to reach her best stride, worked her way forward on the utside, closed well in the stretch, stood a long drive and just failed to catch the winner. OMAREEN rtowed good speed from the outset, took the lead before leaving the back stretch, continued well, but could not stall off the first two. GLISTENING closed some ground. LASSIES MARY, rated off the early pace, swung to the outside for the drive and finished in determined fashion. EL BANDIDO made up some ground. CARELESS KNIGHT, close to the pace from the start, moved up nicely when put to a drive, went well to the end, but was no match for the winner. BIG ONE moved into command with a rush before reaching the first turn, was steadied along but failed to stay when put to a hard drive. MISS SCOTT closed some ground with early speed, but tired.
