RIDING DOUBLE FOR SCHMIDL True Tune Scores Second Victory of Day for Skilful Jockey at Agawam Park. AGAWAM, Mass., June 29. Making possible a double riding triumph for jockey A. Schmidl and displaying a good brand of speed over a drying-out track, True Tune, from the J. A. Manfuso stable, turned the tables on Lucky Jean and Ritorno to be the winner of the fifth and featured event at Agawam Park today. Beaten twice by the pair that overshadowed her in the speculation for the race of five and a half furlongs confined to three-year-old fillies, True Tune administered a decisive defeat to her formidable opponents when she ran the distance in 1:06 flat to score her first victory of the meeting by one length. With only five starters, True Tune came from behind the rapid early pace of the W. V. Dwyer filly, while Ritorno, the best-fancied starter, easily led home Working Girl and Bess Tam, the only others under colors. The unnamed feature brought out the smallest field on the program but proved an interesting contest despite the fact tha it fell to an outsider.
