OMAHA OWNERS CO-OPERATE Liberal in Naming Horses for Races at Ak-Sar-Ben Departures Fail to Affect Cards. I OMAHA, Neb., June 29 Although several stables have departed from Ak-Sar-Ben field during the past few days, they have not been greatly missed as horsemen have been liberal with their entries and large fields participated in several of the events Tuesday afternoon. The opening race of the day was for Nebraska-breds and backers of favorites got off to a good start when- Alberta B., the heavily-backed choice, got down in front. The winner was forced to overcome much interference but got up in time to win by a nose from Dads Pet, while the latter in turn was a like distance in front of Belle Lie. It was one of the closest and most exciting finishes of the meeting. Now that jockey Allan Gray, who won the gold watch for the leading rider for the first half of the meeting, has departed for the coast, Eddie DePrang is favored to win a similar prize given for the second half of the session. DePrang finished second to Gray during the first half of the meeting.
