DARIA, rank at the post where she thrice unseated her rider, was blocked approaching the turn, began to move up fast after going to the outside and, continuing strongly as if much the best, got up before reaching the final eighth and drew out fast thereafter. OTTOMAN, saving ground but taken back several times, closed well under strong urging. UPHOLDER raced wide and slow to begin, was rushed to the leaders on the turn and tired when the final test came. JAY D. had speed from the start, was taken out slightly after three-eighths and tired in the last three-sixteenths. HAROLD H. had no mishaps. NOAHS PRIDE was shuffled back on the turn and made up ground when clear. BEDIGHT quit. PETTY TAW failed to keep up. WITTY LASS began poorlv. Scratched 43923 Whata Question, 100. TRANSPORT, well up from the start, secured room on the inside when racing to the lead on the turn, came away fast after reaching the stretch and, shaken up in the final eighth, probably had little left. MAIDEN DREAM, forced to lose much ground, dropped back slightly on the turn , but came" in, determined fashion when under energetic riding in the final quarter and held WALTER MORTON after disposing of JULIA GRANT and PARVA STELLA. WALTER MORTON came through on the inside when making up ground in the stretch. JULIA GRANT faltered after five-eighths. PARVA STELLA had speed from the start, bore over on the turn and quit in the stretch. FLIGHT OF GOLD showed nothing. JASCHA was through early. AHEAD raced wide, was taken back repeatedly when under strong restraint early, . began to move up approaching the stretch and, closing well, overtook RUSSMOR in the final fifty yards. The latter cantered off about three-sixteenths before the start, was faultlessly rated in the early pacemaking, "increased his margin after reaching the stretch, but tired badly in the last eighth and could not withstand the winner. KENYON C. was under pressure after three-eighths and began to tire after about five-eighths. STORMY OCEAN passed tired horses in the stretch. FAIRY HALL quit badly. LIGHT CRUISER was outrun. ODDESA LADY, going in her best form and raced wide, was steadied close to the early pace, took command gradually and came away in the final eighth. EBONY BOY, slow to start and also raced wide, began to work his way up fast after reaching the stretch turn and closed in resolute fashion, though he did not menace the winner. PEDANT, away slowly and going sluggishly for about three-eighths, went in improved stride thereafter and outfinished MISS PITTYPAT at the end. The latter, under vigorous riding after a quarter, gave way slowly in the stretch. ENAGALA met light interference. SWEET SHOWNO, close up from the start, gave way when placed to strong pressure in the last quarter. BESTEST showed only a flash of speed in her dull effort. Overweight Pedant, 3 pounds. LADY SYBIL took command without need of strong urging, was cleverly rated to the stretch, swerved out approaching the final eighth and, holding on well, barely missed retrieving the lead as the winner tired. RECUSSION, badly outrun for three-quarters and raced wide the final half mile, closed with a rush and was rapidly wearing down the leaders. SWAP, on the outside throughout and under restraint for three-quarters, took command as IRISH IMAGE boro out on the second turn, drew clear soon after reaching the final quarter, but had to stand stout pressure the last three-sixteenths while shaking off PEACE MOVE, and withstood CRIMSONS rush. The latter, raced wide and slow to respond when called upon, came boldly in the final eighth. PEACE MOVE, well up from the start, saved ground when moving up on the stretch turn, challenged gamely in the stretch, where he came out, but tired in the late stages. GOLDEN NUT closed strongly in his fine effort. HAZY AUTUMN lost ground and went well. IRISH IMAGE had speed from the start, bore out badly on the second turn and faltered thereafter.
