ROMARCH, much the best, was allowed to follow in close attendance of the pace for the first quarter mile, moved around the leaders rounding the turn, drew clear entering the stretch and was in hand at the end. SMOKE RING, a forward factor from the start and saving ground throughout, closed willingly and outfinished BATON DAMOUR. The latter worked its way forward on the outside in the final quarter mile. DON SWEEP had speed. LINESMAN, away slowly, made up ground. BONNIE SIGHT quit after displaying good early speed. CANDY POT tired. CUVANNA could never reach contention. ROCKVALE followed in close attendance of the pace for the first three-eighths, swung to the outside, wore down the leaders and was going away at the end. FINI, outrun early, came with a rush through the final quarter mile and outfinished JEAN PITTSTON. The latter raced forwardly placed throughout and had no mishaps. CASTLE CLIFF made up ground. JILDAC was hustled to the leaders on the outside in the opening quarter mile after a slow start, then tired badly in the final eighth. DON VERN quit badly alter moving through threateningly on the inside in the stretch. OAKWOODS JUDGE, unruly at the start but away well, followed in close attendance of the pace for three-eighths, wore down the leaders after straightening away in the stretch and drew out in the final eighth. NOTROUBLE, shuffled back soon after the start, came with a rush on the inside through the stretch and closed a good gap. HIGH YELLOW, a forward factor from the start, closed gamely and outfinished PRINCESS NADI. The latter was hustled into command, then faltered badly through the stretch run. JAMES DONALD made up ground. YOUNG BOB had brief speed. SONNY SMITH broke slowly and raced greenly. NO ROOM raced forwardly placed throughout and, saving ground throughout, had no excuses. DUNLINS LAD, well placed throughout, went well in an even effort. ALL SQUARE made up ground.
