1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES f S s August Swenke, who trains the horses of A. R. Born of Chicago, has made reservations here for eight horses he plans to transfer from Oaklawn Park. According to word received here, Dan E. Stewart will send ten horses the property of Joseph E. Widener here for the Churchill Downs season. The string is coming from Elmendorf Farm. "Red" Wingfield, who has six horses quartered at Latonia, has requested "six stalls of track superintendent Tom Young for the meeting at Lincoln Fields. J. J." Sirl has made application for four stalls for horses owned by Garrett Watts. Among the quartet are the sprinters Silver-ette and Panic Relief. According to word from Aurora, Harold Nellor will take in the Lincoln Fields meeting. He has made reservations for ten horses which were transferred from New Orleans to Aurora a short time ago. Fred Burton was a visitor at Churchill Downs Saturday, having come from his home in Covington. He will serve in an official capacity at Keeneland. Baylor Hickman has sent Mrs. Louise Hickmans Dusty Dawn and several others of his string to Keeneland for the meeting there. They are to be returned in time for the Churchill Downs session. The horses trained by Jack Hanover and E. B. Carpenter are due here from Florida. Coming at the same time are sixteen which Kirby Ramsey will campaign at the Downs. B. F. Clark is shipping Mature and a two-year-old from Lexington to Douglas Park, according to word received by Downs officials. Trainer W. Wilkerson, Jr., reports the illness of the filly Fair Tura, but hopes are held for her recovery. She has been ailing for some time. C. N. Finch, whose entire stable is assembled at his farm in Jeffersonville, Ind., plans to ship several to Lexington for campaigning there. His colors also will be seen during the Churchill Downs meeting and at River Downs.
