1 AURORA TURF NOTES s 1 Resident manager D. C. Burnett is busy attending to details and his entire office force is working overtime getting badges ready for the mails. Judge Cliff Abbo was an arrival. He motored up from New Orleans with his wife and immediately sought out Dr. Matthews in Aurora to have a badly-abscessed tooth lanced. President and general manager R. S. Eddy, Jr., and vice-president Leo Dandurand are expected to arrive Monday or Tuesday, making the front office force complete. Starter Johnny Morrissey and his crew of assistants also are expected arrivals this week, and schooling sessions will begin immediately upon their arrival. Wise Fox, A. G. Tarns classy three-year-old son of Gallant Fox, which annexed the Louisana Derby last month, will begin preparatory gallops this week for the Kentucky Derby, on May 7, and the Illinois Derby, which will enjoy its sixth renewal here on May 28, closing day of the meeting. The Tarn stable, incidentally, will be among the largest campaigning here. Jockey Joe Stampfel is expected soon. The apprentice is under contract to Noble Tiller and will stai-t exercising his employers charges upon his arrival. Several of Mrs. A. M. Creechs string checked in, and the balance of the stable will be shipped here upon the completion of he Keeneland meeting and the first ten days at Churchill Downs. B. P. Woodson is shipping the speedy sprinter Leading Article, Royal Palace and Busse Trumpet from Hot Springs under the care of trainer H. H. Fausett. Among the larger stables here will be the charges of W. A. Mikel. The string comprises twenty-two, namely, Seven Up, Chinese Empress, Terrier, John Bane, Star Cluster, Tonagar, Rocky Prince, Little Hie, Tip Inn, Hekan, Flabbergast, Cranbury, Lamp Black, Gold Step, Bill Kan, Roykan, Taddy Bane, Nellie Maybane, Mabel Bane, Mira-bane, Benefit and Santa Marita. Glen Higdon will have twelve in training throughout the meeting. They are Prince Stone, Sarah, Royal Countess, Our Queen, Jean Dale, Adoress, Brilliant Eoy, Cruising. Kossy, Umary, Circus Night and Ruckes Boy.
