BEN HOLMES REPLACES BURY Well Known Official Agrees to Act as Racing Secretary at Ak-Sar-Ben Course. OMAHA, Neb., April 9. Ben Holmes, one of the outstanding racing officials in the nation, has been signed to replace Eugene Bury as racing secretary for the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben meeting running May 28 through July 4. Bury, originally signed as Ak-Sar-Ben racing secretary early this year, was released from his contract to accept the racing secretaryship at the Suffolk Downs.course. The Suffolk Downs meeting runs "for sixty-six days; so Ak-Sar-Ben officials did not care to stand in Burys way. Holmes, who previously had been signed as presiding steward to succeed Martin L. Nathanson, was immediately contacted at Agua Caliente and agreed to serve as racing secretary and handicapper here. Holmes is serving his second season as racing secretary and handicapper at Agua Caliente. Holmes will arrive in Omaha about May 1 from the West Coast.
