HIGH BLAME forced the pace from the start and lost ground when the leader raced wide entering the stretch, responded to urging in the stretch and outlasted ROYAL BIT in the final strides. The latter moved tip fast after the start, lost ground rounding the stretch turn and finished with determination when straightened out for the stretch run. DUST TO DUST saved ground throughout and held on well. OAK APPLE Showed early speed, but hung in the final sixteenth. STAR RUNNER broke well, but dropped back, then closed with a belated rush. HARDY JIM was well up in the first part, but quit. MILLMORE floundered In the early running. WALLI quit after showing a flash of early speed. JUDGE HASTEN raced in near pursuit in the early pace, moved into command when ready,- was rated along steadily, responded when roused forthe stretch run and drew away in the final sixteenth. LUCULENT was close up from the start, made a determined bid when urged, but could not menace the winner. PRINCE J PETTIE raced forwardly all the way and had no excuse. PENCADER made up some ground on the outside at the end. STROPHE lacked early speed, lost much ground rounding the stretch turn and was bearing out at the finish. ILCHESTER had no mishaps in the running. SEA DOVE floundered badly after going a half mile and could not keep up. MISCHIEFMAKER had no mishaps. MARYS MAY had a flash of early speed. FAST EXPRESS was taken up at the start and then sent into command with a rush, but he tired from early efforts. LADY FEDERAL came well at the finish. CHIEF CHEROKEE worked has way up on the inside from a slow beginning and held on with good courage to the end. GREAT HASTE showed a flash of early speed, but quit. CHALLEPHEN improved his position steadily in the early running, responded when urged in the stretch and finished with determination. SINGERS FOLLY was badly outrun to the far turn, improved his position rapidly thereafter and finished with a rush on the outside. GHOST QUEEN was sent into command rounding the first turn, raced TEDDY WEED into defeat and then tired. BOB C. lacked early speed, but improved his position nearing the finish.
