BROWN REACHES SHREVEP0R1 Will Officiate as Starter at Louisiana Meeting Takes Over Registrations and Stabling. SHREVEPORT, La., Sept. 30 Tom Brown, who will serve as starter when the meeting opens, arrived here and in the meantime will look after the registration and stabling of horses which are to take part in the twenty-five day season beginning at the local Fair Grounds track on October 22. A few stables are expected to drift in over the week-end, but the real influx will not come Until the close of Fairmount Park, from where the Shreveport track will draw many horses, and other northern courses. Emmet Hileman, who is returning here as racing secretary, will have his book of conditions ready within a few days and horsemen are eagerly awaiting its release. Charles F. Henry, widely-known racing official, will have charge of the sport here as presiding steward. Currently he is at River Downs, where he will serve as racing secretary, but will leave the Cincinnati track in time to be here for Shreveports opening. .
