The latter, slower than usual out of the stalls, moved into a daylight advantage in the opening quarter mile and, despite hard urging, could not withstand the winner. CURRANTS raced forwardly from the start and held on well. HIGH IMAGE moved up steadily on the outside, but could not improve his position in the closing drive. . . . The latter, in close attendance of the pace, came with good courage in the stretch and was overtaking the winner steadily at the close. OLD MAIN ROAD, away slowly, was taken up when in close quarters rounding the first turn, but came with good energy in the closing drive. WILLOW PLUME raced forwardly placed all the way and held on stubbornly to tho close, but was no match for the winner. ARROW SONG,-, on the outside while in close attendance of tho pace, hold on with good courage in the closing test. CURVES, quickest to begin, was unable to keep up, although finishing with good energy. TRUCKIN closed some ground. CORDATE was shuffled back soon after the start. SUNABELL attempted to wheel after taking the openinc stride and just galloped along back of his field.
