FAVORITES IN THE LIMELIGHT Three of First Four Choices at Fair-mount Triumph Woman Trainer Saddles Her Fourth Winner. COLLINSVILLE, 111., Sept. 20.-r-The public choices held the spotlight at Fairmount Park this afternoon, favorites accounting for three of the first four races. In . the fifth race, which held secondary position on the card of eight races, Caw Caw, which was neglected in the wagering, scored a surprise victory, reaching the end of the mile and seventy yards affair some two lengths before the pacemaker, Charming Sir. Laura Kiev was third, a length further back. The winner, owned and trained by Mrs. R. M. Chastain, the only woman conditioning racers here, paid 0 for . Caw Caw, which was away from a good start in tenth position, was urged forward after the first half mile had been negotiated and, charging fast thereafter, reached the front approaching the final furlong post and crossed the finish line an easy winner. Charming Sir, which had shown the way to the field almost from the start, tired in the stretch run, but lasted to hold to second place. Rich Girl, the favorite, finished far back. Added interest in the program to be offered here Saturday is the fact that the prize for the one selecting the most winners in the patrons handicapping contest will be ,500 and which because of such a large prize distribution, plus a stellar card of eight races, will undoubtedly draw a large attendance.
