GREENOCK, fractious and away slowly from the outside, was steered to the inside when in stride and, improving his position rapidly, wore down BLAGDEN when inside the final eighth and lasted to outfinish SQUADS RIGHT. The latter, steadied along early, moved up after a half mile and hung in the last stride. BLAGDEN, hustled along from the start, drew clear after disposing of ENCIRCLE, was put to strong urging when challenged, but tired rapidly near the end. ROYAL LINK raced wide- throughout. FLY STONE, rushed into a commanding lead soon after the start, saved much ground while setting a good pace, but required strenuous urging in the last sixteenth to withstand JUST TINY. The latter raced well up throughout, responded gamely to strong urging in the last quarter and closed strongly. MOON BOW MISS inproved her position rapidly in the last quarter after having been forced wide on the stretch turn. QUEENIE WING began sluggishly, worked her way forward through the field and closed a good gap. GRAND CHILD had no excuses. PARI OFFICE began swiftly, then tired rapidly in the last quarter. LUCKY STAR, taken in hand soon after the start and rated off the pace, raced to the leaders with a rush after five-eighths and, swiftly taking command, had to be roused in the late stages to withstand U DEMON. The latter, closer to the pace than usual, responded readily to strong urging in the last three-sixteenths and was getting to the winner. MATURE forced the early pace, then drew into a slight lead, but tired when placed to pressure. APPLE TIME lacked early speed and closed a good gap in the last three-eighths.
