BONYNGE was always within range of the leaders and moved up gamely through the stretch, then finished fast on the inside to get to the front in the closing strides. COMPANY, close up from the start, caught HAPPY .DINAH in .the stretch, but, although going gamely to the Ifinish, could not resist the winner. HAPPY DINAH had her usual early speed .a.n,d. .displayed a. fair. amount of courage. in the final driv.5, jFJUX-s TNG HEIR made a strong move on the outside in the stretch to be close up at .the end. GAY JACKET,, . slow to: get going, closed-much ground and ran a good race. SMART GIRL was used up racing with HAPPY " DINAH in the early part and quit in the stretch. RISOTTO gained a .forward position under energetic riding in the early stages and, saving ground in the stretch, was pocketed between BOOTER BILLIE and the rail, but remained on the inside to find an opening near the end and outfinished ROSE CRYSTAL. The latter, closest to BOOTER BILLIE in the early running, staged a game finish and missed but narrowly. BOOTER BILLIE raced to the front early to open up a good lead while making the pace, but tired in the last sixteenth after crowding the winner. DIPPERCONARD never seriously threatened the leaders. EDGAR BOY, reserved in the early part, came fast in the stretch to get to the front near the end and held MUCH TROUBLE safe. The latter was permitted to lag in the early part, but moved up strongly on the outside entering the stretch and, coming with a rush when struck with the whip a sixteenth out, was gaining rapidly. EASTER PARADE moved up steadily to take command between calls after entering the stretch, but faltered near the finish. PUAKO, wearing four, bandages, was far back to the last quarter, then closed ground and pulled up lame. TENTMATE, MAIZIE B. and BEST NEWS tired. WALLOPER DID, made a brief move on the inside ncaring the stretch turn. VICTOR was shut off on the first turn. Overweight Walloper Did, 5 pounds. Corrected weight Move Away, 111. BYRDFORD suddenly awakened to show fine early speed and, while not able to resist the winner, raced well, to the finish. BELLOS was in trouble repeatedly and did not get going until the race was practically over. SERGT. HLAVIN tired in the stretch. SITTING BULL bore out and was generally weakly handled. OLIMPO was always in striking distance and was in rather close quarters on the far turn, but held his position and raced steadily to the end, but failed to measure up to expectations.
