j t BOWIE TURF NOTES t s . R. Mora, a brother of jockey Henri Mora, arrived here from Panama and will make application for a riders license. The lad was successful in the saddle in his native country and expects to don silks here shortly. Hazel M. Babylon, owner of a large string of horses that are at the Fair Grounds in New Orleans, in charge of B. B. Rice, went to the Crescent City to witness the performance of her colorbearer Brown Knight in the Thanksgiving Handicap. E. Ferry will take drafts of the G. H. Bostwick, A. C. Bostwick and Mrs. E. E. j Bosley stables to Charles Town for the . meeting that follows shortly after the close of the Bowie meeting. Tommy McCarthy, who formerly raced Broadway Lights and other useful horses on Canadian and American tracks, arrived to take in the closing days of Maryland racing. Agents A. Frost and R. Ingersoll, connected with the Millsdale . Stable, will leave at the close of the meeting for California. Jockey C. Stevenson, contract rider for the stable, will leave for the West Coast at the same time. Hughie Gallagher, who races a useful stable on the Canadian circuit, returned to his home when notified of the death of his brother. Jockey Nick Wall, who suffered a fall a few days ago on Puzzle Dance, stated that he would refrain from riding for the balance of the meeting with the exception of an engagement on Xalapa Clown in the Endurance Handicap. Jockey W. G. Jackson came from New England and has turned his engagement book over to A. Sands. Condition books for the meeting at Tan-foran in California are available at the office of the racing secretary here. A carload of horses, embracing the string of R. A. Johnson and others were unloaded 1 at Bowie. The shipment came from Narra-gansett Park. Jockey E. Le Blanc departed for New Orleans with his agent, William Crospt, and will join the stable that his brother, Norman Le Blanc is racing in the Crescent City. Trainer R. Nixon arrived from Narragan- . sett Park with six useful horses that perform for J. E. Simmons. C. H. Blackburn, en route to Florida for the winter racing season, stopped off at Bowie for a few days of the sport before continuing his journey to the Alligator state. The schooling list was increased by the additions of Javamocha Three Daggers and Charming Herod. Mrs. W. Zakoor purchased the four-year-old gelding Combatant from E. J. Regan at private terms and obtained the two-year-old Hail America from H. Horkheimer in a similar transaction. Miss Sara Bosley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bosley, suffered a broken arm and other injuries when thrown from her horse on Tuesday near her home in Monkton, Md.
