HONEY CLOUD "DARK HORSE" Many Horsemen Figuring Abel Racer as Another Azucar in 00,000 Added Coast Handicap. ARCADIA, Calif., JNbv. 24. Honey Cloud, which raced Conquer to a dead heat in the Prince George Handicap at Bowie on Saturday and previously had won the Ritchie and finished third in the Riggs, ahead of Jacola, Esposa and other cracks, is being tipped widely in the East and Middle West as the "dark horse" to win the 00,000 added Santa Anita Handicap here on March 4. Owner A. J. Abel, the former jockey, has , announced that he will ship out Honey Cloud. This four-year-old gelded son of High Cloud and Honey Pot has made a sensational advance from the selling plater division. Hal Price Headley has made a selection of the outstanding Santa Anita division at his Beaumont Farm, near Lexington, that will shortly be shipped, in charge of Duval Head-ley. Bourbon King, Dah He and Flying Lee will be nominated for the Santa Anita Handicap and Airacuda, Hants and Volitation will be put into the Santa Anita Derby. In addition, Preeminent, winner of five of this years important sprint stakes; Drift Along, and Old Nassau will be named. General manager Charles H Strub and his staff will be active and busy from now until the nominations close next Thursday for the big race and the Derby. Horsemen always seem to await the final week before attending to the actual business of making their horses eligible and it is a job getting them all listed.
