t TANF0RAN TURF NOTES T $ Jockey Alex Schlenker who accepted his first mount at Tanforan Tuesday rode well in the Midwest during the past summer. He steered about fifty winners. Bill Lounsberry, who formerly trained a string on western tracks is returning to the turf. He is at present in j-ios Angeles, getting together a public stable. A message from Charles E. Cooper, owner of Rancho San Luis Rey states that he is having a public trial of yearlings December 18. Thirty-five youngsters are in training at the Bonsall haras. One of the stars of the lot is a full sister of the good handicap horse, Bahamas. Horsemen and their friends are invited to Rancho San Luis Rey the day of the trials and Cooper will hold open house. Barbecue and all the trimmings. About 400 persons attended the annual yearling trials at San Luis Rey last season. Jockey J. Boucher suffered painful injuries when he figured in an automobile accident near the Tanforan track Tuesday. He sustained cuts about the face, a broken finger and numerous bruises. He is confined at Mills Memorial Hospital, San Mateo. Als Pride, beaten favorite in Tuesdays sixth race, has been placed on the stewards barred list because of an unsatisfactory performance. Bummer Bill has also been placed on the banned list. Florence B. F., the property of A. R. Born has been Okayed by the track veterinarian and will be permitted to start. Apprentice David Myer was an arrival and applied for a license. He performed at the California fairs and is under contract to A. Shoemaker. Don Roberto, giant California-bred, will return to competition in the near future. The big fellow has been going along steadily with his training and is about ready to start. Primulus is another of handicap calibre that will be entered before long. Jockey "Shorty" Ada:s has been signed to ride No Dice in the 0,000 San Francisco Handicap. No Dice, which was returned to the South after filling his engagement in the Worlds Fair Handicap at Bay Meadows will be sent to Tanforan about one week before the race. .Jockey L. McDermott, the veteran now riding at Tanforan, has the distinction of haVing won four Latonia Cups. He was successful with Mike Hall, twice, and also rode Altawood and Chacolet to victory in the Blue Grass distance event.
