I TANFORAN TURF NOTES f s . G. J. Giannini, San Francisco sportsman increased his stable by three head Wednesday, with the purchase of Foam, Dissent and Gamclon, from the Double H. Ranch stable which is owned by Henry Potter Russell. Terms of the sale were private. Orthodox, four-year-old gelding from the stable of L. McCarthy, was destroyed after the running of the second race, Wednesday. Orthodox was leading entering the stretch when he fell, breaking his right front leg at the ankle. Star Scout, a five-year-old gelding by The Scout, was pulled up during the running of the sixth race on Wednesday. Examination showed that he had broken a bone in his shoulder which may cause him to be destroyed. Star Scout raced in the interest of-Puller and Stell. Mrs. T. Loeff sold the plater Sextus to Miss Irene M. Duffield at private terms Thursday morning. Miss Duffield formerly raced Black Toreador losing him via the claiming route.
