f CHARLES TOWN TURF NOTES ? 4 . Mrs. C. M. Feltner purchased the three-year-old Mon Doit from Selby L. Burch and shipped the gelding here with others in the public stable trained by Charles M. Feltner. There are fifteen head in the establishment, including those racing for Mrs. K. N. Gilpin and Mrs. E. L. Bull. K. D. Kolseth arrived from Bowie with Setemup, Sea Gull, Sun Sweep, Suntosun, Prairie Man and Shaggy Ann. Paddock judge William J. Daly arrived from Empire City. He reports that the blood poisoning which he contracted in his right hand when scratched by the teeth of Mrs. Dalys Round Bend is responding rapidly to treatment. G. N. McNaughton wired racing secretary Fred Burton that he was shipping five horses here from New York Wednesday. Mrs: E. C. Bosley has six horses here, and John Bosley is racing five at this point. At a conference between steward T. C. Bradley, general manager and president A. J. Boyle and starter William Hamilton, it was decided to rescind the previously announced plan of increasing the number of starters over this track to ten and continue to limit the fields to eight starters, with six horses on the also eligible list. The move was taken in the interest of safety, because of the condition of the track. William Merkle, supervisor on the staff of Harry M. Stevens, arrived from Narragan-sett Park to take up his duties. The concessions at this point are in charge of C. Homer Rose and Joe Stevens, Jr. J. H. Logan shipped in a division of his stable from Narragansett Park. Ralph McBain, in charge of the jockeys quarters here, reported that fifty-five riders have registered with him and that more are expected. With all stalls on the grounds occupied, the overflow of horses is being handled at Berryville and Hagerstown. Ben Myres arrived from Sportsmans Park with Campo and Lanvoila. The latter races for Mrs. A. T. Simmons. Starter William Hamilton arrived from Louisville to take up his official duties here. Hamilton, recognized as one of the best in the business, succeeds R. W. White. Other changes in the list of officials show Fred Burton as steward in place of Kenneth N. Gilpin, and W. F. Alexander succeeding Burton as placing judge. Dion K. Kerr, who is racing a small string here, reported that J. A. Manfusos Aneroid was shipped to Lexington, Ky., Tuesday, where he will enter stud service. Ed Parks will handle apprentice D. Mili-tello and M. Sarno. .
