JOCKEYS BECOME TRAINERS NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 30 Among the latest of ex-jockeys to seek fame and fortune as conditioners of thoroughbreds are Jimmy Neel and Joe Serio, who not so very many years ago sported the silks at the Fair Grounds with a good measure of success, but increasing weight curtailed their usefulness in the saddle, so they resorted to the training of racers. Jimmy Neel, who formerly rode under the banner of J. B. Theall, is now handling the horses of Russell Jewett, Kansas City turfman, while Joe Serio has been elevated to the rank of trainer for E. K. Bryson, by whom he has been employed throughout his connection with the turf. Serio replaced Harry Baker as trainer of the Bryson string.
