! FRENCH GENERAL STRIKE j COMPLETELY COLLAPSES j PARIS, France, Nov. 30. Premier Edouard Daladier tonight won a crushing victory over his communist and socialist opponents as the national one-day general strike called by the General Federation of Labor in protest against the premiers reconstruction plans, collapsed under pressure of the governments military measures. The militantly aggresive premier emerged triumphant from the test of strength as the strike, only slightly effective early in the day, crumbled completely in the late afternoon. An average of only twenty-three per cent of the workers in the Paris region struck, according to official estimates, and the subway, taxi, telephone, telegraph and post office workers rescinded their strike orders after most of the strikers had returned to work. Public services operated throughout the nation at close to normal effectiveness, and the day was orderly, except for a few clashes in the northern industrial areas. Financial circles were particularly jubilant as reports continued to come in from all over France of continued normal work, except in the industrial North. .
