WOODSAW CONSISTENT RACER Proves Exceptionally Good Claim for Owner J. A. Nix Won Six Races and Much Place Money. NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 30. When consistently good racing is brought up in, the realm of the turf, Woodsaw, a three-year-old in the stable of J. A. Nix, is certain to be included among those to be discussed. In eighteen starts this year, the chestnut gelded son of Cherokee and Petite, has not failed to bring back some portion of the purse to his owner. Campaigning in various sections of the country, Woodsaw has accounted for six victories, five seconds and seven thirds. Woodsaw was acquired via the claiming route by his present owner and has more than -won his purchase price out and paid for his keep. The above mentioned performances of Woodsaw brought a total of ,940 into the Nix coffers, a tidv sum for a horse of his caliber to earn in the course of approximately a year of -campaigning. There are few thoroughbreds in the same bracket with the Nix standard bearer which have earnings to their credit as large as that of the offspring of Cherokee.
