21 STAKES REMAIN ON LIST Good Sport 4n Prospect Through Long Winter Season at New Orleans Fair Grounds. NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 30. Despite the fact that the majority of races staged at the Fair Grounds this season have involved members of the claiming division, an unusual number of close finishes have resulted both in sprints and distance events, which provided a thrilling brand of racing for the fans of this section. The closely bunched fields that have been matching strides promises to furnish the Crescent City with the finest thoroughbred competition in the history of the sport here and regulars, as well as newcomers, to the Louisiana Jockey Clubs track have heaped much favorable comment on the class of sport offered. The stakes or feature program at the Fair Grounds for 1938-39 embraced a total of twenty-three races, two of which have already been decided, thus leaving a total of twenty-one more to come up for decision between now and next spring, with the- season culminating with the running of the 12,000 added Louisiana Derby.
