1 TANFORAN TURF NOTES - I I Ellis Gray, young brother of jockey Allan Gray, will soon embark on a career as a jockey. The youngster will arrive from his home in Cleveland, Idaho, within the next week and become affiliated with a strong stable at Tanioran. Young Gray weights 95 pounds and is sixteen years old. R. C. Butard has sold the five-year-old gelding King Royale to Mrs. I. M. Duffield. Cecil Wilhelm will do the training. Mrs. Duffield recently purchased Sextus. Trainer S. J. Norris was an arrival from Southern California and will saddle Mr. - Blaze in the Golden Gate Handicap Saturday. Jockey Owen Webster was an arrival from Agua Caliente and will remain at Tanforan for the rest of the meeting. He may have the mount on either Advocator or Indian-town in the Golden Gate Handicap. San Ramon was withdrawn from the eighth race Friday. The horse is suffering from a case of colic. Jockey W. Dougherty was an arrival from Chicago and will do the riding for the New York Southern Stable. Full Tilt, which was scratched Thursday, is suffering from a swollen jaw sustained when he was bitten by an insect. Cleanup was scratched the same day because of lame-nandss. Aaron Meyer, former San Francisco betting commissioner and mutuel clerk, died of pneumonia in the Emergency Hospital at San Francisco, Thursday night. Meyer attempted to commit suicide by leaping from a ferryboat a couple of days ago. He was buried Friday afternoon.
