. ! , i I 1 BOWIE MEETING CURTAILED Heavy Snowstorm and Freezing Weather Cut Off Four Days. Two Rich Stake Races Go By the Boards-Mrs. Louise Viau Heads Winning Owners List. Bowie staged an abbreviated meeting of nine days from November 16 to November 25, curtailed by one of the worst snowstorms in years, followed by freezing weather that effectually halted any further chance of completing the thirteen days scheduled. Two rich stake races, the 0,000 Bryan and OHara Memorial, and the ,000 added Endurance Handicaps went by the board and were canceled. During the nine days of sport which actually were completed, the management gave away 6,290, a daily average of ,476.67, which indicated a severe loss to horsemen through the loss of the four days of sport. Mrs. L. Viau had the most success among the owners when she won ,132, Mrs. A. J. Abel faring next best with ,537 in winnings. Conquer overshadowed Honey Cloud in a money winning way of ,132 to ,087. Charley Stevenson and Warren Yarberry had a close fight for riding laurels, with the former topping Yarberry nine winners to eight. J.
