i LAWRIN WILL NOT RESUME TRAINING UNTIL NEXT FALL L LOUISVILLE, Ky., April 19. It is the opinion of Ben A. Jones, trainer of Herbert M. Woolf s Woolford Farm horses, that Lawrin, winner of the 1938 Derby, will not resume racing before next winter. Lawrin, developed by Jones and regarded by many as the best three-year-old colt last year, went wrong last summer in California. After several months at the farm, the Derby winner returned to his place in the training stable and was included in the large string sent to Florida. Following several trials, the trouble returned, but in less serious form than previously, and upon the death of his sire, Insco, Lawrin was returned to the farm to serve some of the mares that had been booked to Insco. Although he will have completed stud services for the season within the next few weeks, he will "be left at the farm until fall and then brought along slowly with a view to having him ready for 1 a light but important campaign next winter.
