SOIGNE dwelt slightly at the start, but was rushed up fast on the inside, then failed to menace the winner. FREE CHILD closed a gap steadily in the stretch. JIMS NIECE, a factor in the early stages, had no mishaps. FRAIDY CAT could not keep up. TOW ROPE dropped back after the start and was outrun. Won driving: second and third the same. EQUESTRIAN, outrun early, moved up gamely on the outside entering the stretch and, losing ground, bore in, but finished gamely. PONTIUS dropped back after the start, but improved his position on the inside, saved much ground and held on well to the finish. BLACK LEGION, a factor from the start, but on the inside of HELLO STRANGER, was in close quarters in the final few yards. PHARO WARRIOR broke slowly from outside the stalls and did not menace the leaders. HELLO STRANGER bore out on the stretch turn. ROLLS EASY was outrun throughout. THIRD RACE 3-4 MILE. The latter was sent into command at the start, showed speed and held on well. CROSS QUESTION, close to the early pace, tired steadily in the drive. CHANT DOR had no mishaps. ENTRACTE was sent into command on the inside in the first eighth, showed speed under restraint and saved ground, but could not hold the winner. GREY GOLD stumbled at the start and almost unseated his rider, moved up under pressure and closed well. DOUBLE BACK was unable to menace the leaders. Scratched 67815 Highscope, 108. BE QUAINT moved up with a rush when urged on the stretch turn and tired thereafter. SIR JIM JAMES was badly outrun early, but failed to improve his position when roused on the far turn. BLOND SPOOK was taken back when outrun and finished well over tired horses. PLAY GOLD was used up racing STRUT into defeat. The latter tired suddenly in the last sixteenth after forcing the pace. HIJO GAUCHO was outrun. BILLY VAN NUYS was never a factor.
