NELSON U. S. OPEN CHAMP PHILADELPHIA, Pa., June 13.— Byron Nelson, of Reading, Pa., shooting a 70, defeated Craig Wood of Mamaroneck, N. Y., in the second playoff of the National Open golf tournament here yesterday. Wood finished three strokes behind the victor.
