Smith, who recently drew a suspension while riding at Hollywood Park, has left for New York to report to his contract employer, W. E. Boeing. Jockey Ralph Neves has been suffering from a severe cold and was unable to report for duty Tuesday. Apprentice S. Packer, who recently accept- ed his first mount at Caliente, rode for the first time at Hollywood Park Tuesday. Capt. Pat OHay, veteran turfman, is de- parting from Hollywood Park the end of the present week, heading for Taos, New Mexico, to spend a month on his ranch there. Yester- day OHay sold his three-horse van to Bing Crosby.
