OMAHA, Neb., June 13.— It was Ladies* Day at Ak-Sar-Ben, and the management of-j fered an inviting program of seven races for the occasion. The Lions Club Purse, for three-year-old, occupied the feature position, and brought out seven of the best in that division for a test of six furlongs. Betting was brisk on the main event, with H. Nel-l lors Jubilee C, Mrs. E. H. Beezleys Byrd-L ford, and C. B. Daniels Clock Winder carry-l ing the bulk of the support. The popular trio was opposed by E. Pullmans Liverpool, ! Nopalosa Stock Farms Nopalosa Porte, J. r. W. Hawkins Petite Willie and P. C. James 3 Trickster. Another series of heavy rains fell Monday y night, which left the racing strip almost impassable, i- and it required the sturdiest type performers to negotiate the going successfully :. before the 6,000 fans who came out it to view the sport conducted under heavily-clouded skies. After several unsuccessful tries, March h Step, ten-year-old son of Light Brigade e and Flower of Yarrow, which races for ,r J. Eckrosh, scored his first win of the season when he led home nine others which h raced five and one-half furlongs in the first it race. Second went to Out of Step, while Odd Number, an outsider in the betting, fin-j- l_ ished third. Cornelia Powell and Heidi, it among the choices, failed to share in the ie purse.
