ALLEGRO AIMING FOR CLASSIC Dixiana Star Will Make Seasons Debut in Open Heart Handicap at Detroit Thursday. DETROIT, Mich., June 13.— Dixianas Allegro, one of the leading juveniles of last year and now being prepared with the Arlington Classic as his chief objective, will make his 1939 debut in the Open Heart Handicap, to be presented as the feature at Detroit Thursday. This six furlongs dash was added to the regular Detroit schedule so as to aid the Open Heart Fund, a drive which is now going on in the Motor City. The commission from the wagering will be presented to the fund. Allegro was assigned the top impost of 119 pounds and this crushing impost will call upon him to concede much weight to the thirteen other eligibles. Sky Lanty, winner of the Inaugural Handicap, and Night Editor, winner of the Belle Isle Handicap, come next under 115 pounds each, and then follows Little Shaver under 112 pounds. Prince Argo will tote 107 pounds and then the weights scale down to ninety-five pounds, assigned to Manamaid and Little Drift. After his brilliant second to Johnstown in the Breeders Futurity, Allegro was retired for the year and was not returned to training until late in the spring. He has been training in fine style and this will be his only effort over the local course. The weights follow: Horse. Horse. Wt. Wt. Horse. Horse. Wt. Wt. Horse. Horse. Wt. Wt.
