CAPTAIN HENRY, well ridden and sent to the leaders on the inside, was forced to go to the outside of SEQUOIA when taking command, drew clear entering the stretch and tired in the last stages, but held ABDICATE safe. The latter, prominent from the start, was put to strong urging after reaching the stretch and was gaining on the winner at the end. ONA BOY was hustled forward through the field and closed with a rush. SEQUOIA sprinted into a good early lead, set a good pace for three-eighths, was unable to withstand the winner and tired steadily thereafter. SMITH DAVID improved his position through the field. SPIRIT QUEEN, much the best and away slowly, was blocked when improving her position on the inside, came to the outside for the drive and. closing in determined fashion, wore down the leaders to win drawing away. IMPERIAL RONIE, hustled along from the start, moved up rapidly entering the stretch, forged to the front approaching the final eighth, but was unable to withstand the winner. PARI OFFICE sprinted into a eood early lead, was put to strong pressure when challenged, gave way midway of the stretch, but held on well. CAROLSTER came from well back. GOLDEN CHIMES tired. LADY OVER-BROOK was inclined to bear out the greater part of the dash. PRETTY HASTY and LADY NADI quit. Scratched— 75640 Linden Way, 112. Overweight — Imperial Ronie, 1 pound. DOMINANT DARBY, rushed to the front, drew clear after disposing of DELIUS, was unable to withstand the winner and tired rapidly near the end.
