Martin brought several useful horses from North Randall, including Drudgery, from the Winston Guest stable. Jockey A. Craig departed for Suffolk Downs to ride a pair of starters from the 1 W. S. Kilmer stable which will be saddled by Elmer Trueman. Craig will return here join the main division in charge of W. A. Crawford. Jockey M. Peters, contract rider for the , Foxcatcher Farms stable, left for New York ride the two-year-old Fairy Chant in the I Astoria Stakes. Both rider and horse will return here. Dewey Bentham arrived from Aqueduct with several useful horses that have been campaigning on the metropolitan tracks. The condition of Mrs. Brennan, mother of Edward J. Brennan, racing secretary for steeplechases here, is reported to be critical. Joe Stevens, head of the M. Stevens Catering Company, Inc., flew to New York over the week-end and returned early Tuesday. Several steeplechase riders arrived over the week-end to accept mounts in jumping events here during the balance of the meeting. Frank K. Hastings brought Mon Reve here from New York to meet several engagements. Jockey J. Mattison reported to trainer P. Jones and augmented the riding colony here.
