REFUSES GIFT OF ISLAND PRESCOTT, Ont, June 15— Mayor John Horan announced today that he received a wire from Lady Katherine Seymour, lady-er in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth, saying it was impossible for her majesty to accept one of the Thousand Islands as a gift. The mayor advanced the proposal last week in a tele-ice gram, asking if the queen would accept one of the isles from the people of Leeds and Greenville counties, Ontario, as a reminder of her visit to this section and as an ex-»n pression of loyalty and affection of its* people.
