NORMAN D., going in his best form and reserved while following in close attendance of the pace, responded well after reaching the stretch, drove to the front approaching the final eighth to win drawing away. HAZEL NUT, rushed forward on the outside, took command nearing the final quarter, was unable to withstand the winner and tired near the end. OPENING NIGHT, hustled into a clear lead and on the inside throughout, gave way when challeged and tired rapidly in the last stages. ESCOMUR showed an even effort. SISTER JEAN, in close quarters early, moved up when clear and hung in the drive. GEO. KREHBIEL had no mishaps. DODD showed nothing. LINDEN WAY, hustled along from the start, forged to the front nearing the final quarter, was put to strong pressure to dispose of JUST TINY and drew clear in the last stages. JUST TINY took command soon after the start and on the outside of the winner, gave way after a half mile and tired rapidly near the end. ONA BOY, dropped back soon after the start and unable to improve early position, was steered to the inside for the drive and. closing in resolute fashion, would have been up in another stride. TOMS LADY, a strone factor throughout, raced wide in the stretch and closed with a rush. GRAND WATERS tired. GALECO failed to keep up. PENNLIST came from well back, MISS JOKER had no mishaps. DROOP sprinted into a good early lead, gave way to the winner, tired in the last stages, but was best of the others. MISS TAD moved forwardly through the field and finished well. SUDANESE tired. INCREDIBLE, slow to begin and lucky to find room when improving her position, closed with a rush. RUSH PLAY came from well back. AVIRAB raced on the inside in the drive. HAP MACK, rushed to the front on the outside, drew clear after a quarter, was unable to hold the winner and tired steadily after leading to the final eighth. BELLITAS BABE was outrun. DOUBLE WHISK, v.oll up and under steadying restraint while racing on the ir.side, was blocked at the far turn and showed nothing thereafter. TIPSY PUDDING quit.
