DEVONSHIRE GRANDSTAND DESTROYED BY FIRE WINDSOR, Canada, June 15.— The grandstand at Devonshire Park was destroyed by fire early this morning. The fire started from an undetermined origin and was first discovered by members of a wrecking crew living at the Kenilworth race track across the road. The fire had gained such headway that no attempt was made to save the structure, but the clubhouse and barns escaped the blaze. The track has not been used since a short meeting in 1936 and is the property of Simon Meretsky, Windsor theater operator. Devonshire was the scene of many brilliant turf battles, the Frontier Handicap being its principal attraction for years.
