- ENGLAND WARNS JAPAN LONDON, England, June 15.— Great Britain has officially warned Japan that provocative *" action in Tientsin or elsewhere e might lead to regrettable incidents, Prime e Minister Neville Chamberlain told the House of Commons today. He expressed surprise [: over Japans statement that the Tientsin blockade is designed to bring about it wider co-operation with British authorities ■s in north China. "Such an attitude," he said, I. "has serious implications." If this statement it represents the official view, Chamberlain ■ said, then Japan is using the Tientsin incident i- as a pretext for further far-reaching S demands, which would raise a question of »f policy, in which other great powers are concerned. 1- This was interpreted as a warning « by Britain that she would not permit herself to be dragooned into accepting Japanese e domination of north China to the exclusion n of British mercantile and commercial interests. l- The prime minister obviously meant it that the Japanese stand itself displayed an n intention by Tokio to impose a rule of force e over foreign interests in the Chinese areas ;S now occupied by the Nipponese troops.
