The latter, away well, but dropped hack soon afterward, worked his way forward steadily and was wearing the winner down. ELLEN BAKER, outrun early, closed with a rush. ADORESS made up ground. WILD CALL, a strong factor from the start, tired rapidly after five-eighths. RED HAY was outrun. BARBARA S. had early speed. VALVESTA was outrun. Mrs. A. J. Mueller claimed Muggins for ,400; R. B. IMPERIAL SIR, saved early, responded well when called upon, moved forward on the outside, bore over in the drive and got up in the final stride. SHOW UP, under steadying restraint for three quarters, was put to strong urging thereafter, forged to the front approaching the final eighth and. finishing in close quarters, just failed to last. SIAM, outrun for three quarters, improved his position rapidly thereafter, was bothered by the winner and but for the mishap probably would have been the winner. GOLDEN ERA, rushed to the front, drew clear under light urging, was unable to withstand SHOW UP and tired near the end. WEDDING MORN tired. CATOMAR was outrun. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-2 MILES.
