Complete Arrangements For Relief Fund Program One of Best Cards of Meeting At Sportsmans Park Tomorrow CICERO, 111., May 4.— Final arrangements have been completed to make Wednesday, May 6th, one of the biggest days on the Illinois racing calendar when the Army and Navy Relief Fund takes over the Sportsmans Park race course. One of the best and well-balanced racing cards of the spring meeting at the Cicero track has been arranged by racing secretary Patrick C. Galliger, and each of th. eight races booked for the afternoons entertainment has been named for every branch of service in Uncle Sams fighting forces. A platoon of marines, sailors and soldiers will be on hand to lend pomp and color to the afternoons activities and the Navys band from Great Lakes will be present to play patriotic tunes. The entire gross proceeds of the day are to be donated to the Army Relief Fund, the Navy Relief Fund and the Chicago Servicemens Center, a sum expected to exceed 5,000, it is estimated by officers of the National Jockey Club. In charge of the military arrangements are Capt. E. A. Lofquist, U. S. N.; Capt. G. W. MacLain, U. S. C. G.; Lieut. Col. C. L. Fordney, U. S. M. C; Brig. Gen. William E. Guthner, U. S. A.; Col. Edward Roth, Jr., U. S. A., and Col. John S. Sullivan, U. S. A. Farns-worth represent the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association, which body is giving the fund two and one-half per cent of the purses their members receive during the 19-day meeting. V. Park, W. Price and D. MacAndrew are representatives of the valets, agents and jockeys, who are donating half of their earnings on Wednesday. Although passes will be honored on Wednesday, the Jockey Club is making an extensive drive to sell admission tickets to the grandstand and clubhouse. This in addition to all other revenues including part of the food concessions, will be turned over to the fund.
