TINDER GAL improved her position steadily through the first half. came»- to the outside entering the stretch and, responding to good urging, wore down MISTLETOE and then drew clear. MISTLETOE went to the front on the upper turn, held a short lead when settled for the drive, but could not withstand the winner. DOUBLE VALUE saved ground when outrun to the final turn, then closed resolutely under punishment. NICE GOIN faltered in the closing Stages after racing forwardly placed for five eighths. BATTER, well handled, was hard hustled early to get to the front, established a jjlear lead and drew out to win as his rider pleased. MONKS MEMO secured a good position at once, made a game bid when hard urged in the stretch, but could not menace the winner, although easily besting the others. DELTA DAN came to the extreme outside for the drive, but could not better his position under urging. SYMPHON came to the inside entering the stretch and then failed to respond to punishment. CLARCAROLE tired. BURSTON MANOR was never dangerous. TRA-LA-LA could not keep up. The others were never prominent. AVACHANCE, a forward factor from the start, held on resolutely under punishment in the drive, but could not withstand the winner. MISS LEXINGTON took command at once and set the pace to the final eighth, then faltered. LADY ROMERY raced evenlv. EMMA JO was unable to threiten under good handline. AIR HOSTESS improved her position steadily for the first half, came out slightly for the drive and, responding to strong handling, was up to dispose of COMMENDABLE in the closing strides. COMMENDABLE raced to the front at once, held a short lead when settled in the stretch, but could not withstand the winner. FOUNTAIN HEAD saved ground when outrun to the final turn, came between horses in the drive and finished resolutely under punishment. OLD BOOK faltered after raring forwardly placed to the final eighth. SONG SPINNER finished fast after starting slowly. ANDNOW tired after showing good speed to the final quarter.
