MARKET WISE— The Tufano four-year-old worked a mile in 1:39 4-5 at Jamaica Monday in preparation for his engagement in the Grey Lag Handicap this week-end. | Whirlaway Given Top Weight Again Has 127-Pound Assignment For Grey Lag, One More Than Either Challedon or Mioland NEW YORK, N. Y., May 4.— John B. Campbell has given Warren Wrights Whirlaway the place of honor for the 5,-000 Grey Lag Handicap that will bring the meeting of the Metropolitan Jockey Club to a conclusion Saturday. The son of Blenheim II. and Dustwhirl is required to take up 127 pounds for the mile and a furlong test. Under that burden the little chestnut is conceding a pound each to such stalwarts as Mioland and Challedon and two pounds to Market Wise, the colt who took his measure under equal weights in The Jockey Club Gold Cup last year. Attention and the outlander, Reading, are in under 123 pounds each and these comprise those who are handicapped at a greater weight than 120 pounds. The running of the Dixie Handicap, at Pimlico Wednesday, will probably afford a line on Grey Lag quality, for some of the top horses will go to the post in that old fixture and they may move to Long Island for the Grey Lag. Forty-Three Eligibles In all there are 43 eligibles for this, the second running of the Grey Lag, which last year went to Arnold Hangers Dit. Following are the weights: Horse. Wt. Horse. Wt.
