LIGHT TIDE, having good early speed, was kept close to the pace to the far turn, then, steered to the outside, rushed up to take the lead entering the stretch and came on to win by a wide margin. HIGH TALENT, very slow to settle into stride, closed swiftly on the outside rounding the final turn, closed gamely, but was no match for the winner. SPEEDY A ALLEY was always well up and finished with good courage in the final drive. LOOK HIGH forged to the front entering the back stretch, held on gamely to the last eighth, then tired. GAY ELF showed in front for the first quarter, then dropped hack. KATHERINE G. was alwavs well back of the field. SPYWAY, well rated back of the early pace, moved up when ready rounding the stretch turn, forged to the front a sixteenth out and. under mild urging, lasted to win by a safe margin. MICHIGAN TOKEN, always within striking distance of the leaders, closed strongly between horses turning for home and, under a drive, got up in the last stride to get the place narrowly. PLAY GREENOCK showed good speed, forced the pace to the last eighth, then forged to the front and held on gamely in the final drive, although tiring. R. DEE raced in spots and was never a serious factor. SAYERCHANCE raced very wide in the first turn and was never able to get up thereafter. STATION HOUSE was up in making the early pace. VALDINA KATE, always in closest pursuit of the winner, closed gamely in the final drive. MATERIALIZE raced evenly and saved all possible ground, but was unable to get up. BUTSYS ROSE, slow to settle into stride, closed ground in the final quarter. STEPPING OUT also closed ground. ROYAL COUNT raced well for a -half mile, then tired. GENE GO trailed throughout. GUEST STAR, well back for the first half, raced up on the outside, showed in front a sixteenth out, but was unable to hold the winner in the closing drive. SWIFT SUE, a forward factor from the start, made a determined bid for the lead entering the stretch, but was not good enough and just lasted to save the show. BALLINDERRY took command soon after the start, drew away to a long lead in the first quarter, set the pace to the last eighth, then tired when challenged, but was best of the others. T. M. DORSETT, rushed up to the early pacemaker after going the first quarter, held on gamely to the final eighth, then tired. SPEEDY SQUAW, very llow to settle -into stride, closed swiftly on the outside rounding the final turn, showed in front for seventy yirds in the stretch, but was unable to hold the winner in the closing drive. REIGH COUNTESS, well up for the first three-quarters, held on gamely to the final eighth, then tired, but managed to last to save
