James Faith in Alsab NEW YORK, N. Y., May 4— Basil James had no excuse for Alsabs defeat in the Derby. "He suffered interference in the early running," said James, "but not enough to affect his performance in the race. However, Alsab is showing improvement and I believe he will be a supplementary entry for the Belmont Stakes." James has been engaged to handle the colt again in the Preakness at Pimlico Saturday.
