Market Wise Sparkles NEW YORK, N. Y., May 6.— Trainer George W. Carroll brought Market Wise, owned by Louis Tufano, out before the running of the first race for a six -furlong test. The son of Brokers Tip — On Hand displayed high speed and through the final sixteenth mile was waved down. He stepped the distance in 1:12. The early pace was fast and even, the first furlong in :12, the quarter in :23%, the half in :46% and five furlongs in :59%. He was handled by jockey F. Zufelt, who will ride him on Saturday. The work was witnessed by owner Tufano, who was so engrossed in the trial that he forgot to "duck away" from the sprinkling wagon that drove up alongside him and, as a result, sported a pair of wet trousers for the best part of the afternoon.
