ALJEST came strongly on the outside when straightened out in the stretch and drew away decisively through the last sixteenth. HIGH CARRIE closed stoutly on the inside in the run home, outlasting MENTOR JOY. The latter worked way up on the outside and finished courageously. GALLANT DUST displayed the most speed until well into the stretch, but tired in the final eighth. SAUCY SINGER raced forwardly while saving ground to the turn | for home, but quit thereafter. ELECTRIC HEELS showed a Hash of early speed. The others were outrun. HEZDREL steadily improved position, came strongly in the stretch and got up on even terms with ARNOLDS ACTOR in the final stride. ARNOLD S ACTOR saved ground in the run home and held on determinedly. BLACK MISCHIEF closed stoutly in the run home and outlasted GRACE K., The latter raced forwardly and held on fairly well. VALLEJO was used up racing SIR WITCH into defeat and both quit badly after reaching the stretch. QUICKER took command after roing the first eighth and held the race safe all through the stretch. APOLLYON moved up on the outside rounding the far turn and easily disposed of the others in the run home. RICH HILL gained steadily and outlasted GLIMMERI.EE when the final test came. The latter displayed early speed, but tired steadily during the last quarter. DUST OFF hail no mishaps. The others were outrun. ALCINOUS opened up a long early lead, then ran out after rounding the far turn, but held on gamely under keen urging in the last eighth. Won easily; second and third driving. GOLD COIN MISS went to the front on the outside rounding the stretch turn and shook off SKIPPER Z. during the final eighth. SKIPPER Z. displayed the most early speed, had no excuses and was much the best of the others. MEANWHILE broke slowly, raced into third place on the back stretch, which he easily retained thereafter, but never threatened the leaders. GRIFFIN HILLS closed some ground. BRIGHT BELL tired. BUSBY worked way up in close quarters next to the inner rail in the last quarter and finished courageously. AZAFRAN raced forwardly throughout, but barely saved third. ONETTE raced on the outside throughout and held on well. THE DENTIST showed early speed, but quit as if short. LITTON HICKMAN tired badly.
