Small But Classy Field For Blackstone Valley Sweet Willow and Daily Delivery Engage in Fast Morning Trials PAWTUCKET, R. I., May 6.— The Black-stone Valley Handicap, ,000 added six-furlong event which will feature the closing day program on Saturday at Narragansett Park, to all appearances will have a starting field of at least seven horses. Those expected to accept the issue are Robert W. Collins Sweet Willow, Mrs. Louis E. Palladinos Little Beans, Bernard B. Robinsons No Competition and Woof Woof, A. B. Christophers Daily Delivery, C. P. Amodies Taking Ways and the Pine Tree Farms Charm Bracelet. Alexander S. Pierces Allegro and Time OWar are listed as possible starters. Three of the horses expected to start Saturday were on jthe track this morning for workouts, Daily Delivery, Sweet Willow and Woof Woof, while another, Little Beans, had his first outing of the year in the feature race this afternoon. Sweet Willow, winner of the 1941 renewal of this event, had the best move. The Lee O. Cotner mare was sent the six furlongs and accomplished her move handily in 1:13%, flashing by the fractional poles in :47y5 and :59%. Daily Delivery was sent the same distance handily in 1:13%, being clocked at :4T% and :594/5 for the fractions. Woof Woof was breezed the six furlongs in 1:16 and was not asked for his best. The latest report here was that Doublrab, who won the Spring Handicap and the Bristol Handicap here, would not be shipped for Saturdays race. The gray son of Sherab, who was assigned top weight of 121 pounds by racing secretary Bob Shelley, was beaten by Ocean Blue in Maryland the other day. As Earl Beezley shipped his stable to Detroit Tuesday, Grasshopper II. and Samborombon will not be here to start in the sprint event.
