STROMBUS was hard hustled through the opening quarter to gain a contending position, took command on the upper turn and easily increased his advantage to the close. PENWIPE, a forward factor from the start, made a determined bid in the stretch, but could not reach the winner. ANDNOW, in tight quarters early, was eased back to avoid interference and faded to threaten when clear. HI WINNIE, on the inside throughout, made a bold bid when settled for the drive, but faltered in the closing stages. SOUTH MILL finished fast on the outside after beginnine slowly. JUMP BID tired after racing forvxardly placed through the first half mile. MISS NUTMEG had early speed. BURSTON MANOR was never dangerous and did not like the sloppy footing. EMPLOYER broke well, then dropped back. PIPLAD. well placed and a forward factor until the final eighth, faltered in the closing stages POINT HIUH was unable to better his position when subjected to punishment in the stretch. WHICH MAN was never dangerous. BLUE STONE tired after racing forwardly placed for five eighths. MARMAC fractious at the post, broke well and had eood speed for three-eighths, but bolted on the upper turn and had to be pjiMjp. LORD VATOUT took command at once, shook off HOUR AL after the first half mile and drew cut steadily thereafter to win as his rider pleased JACKORACK saved ground until reaching the stretch and came determinedly when hard urged in the drive, but could not menace the winner. HOUR AL faltered after racing forwardly placed to the final eighth UNCLE JOCK could not better his position under good handling and had no excuses. HAPPY CHOICE was never dangerous. WHICHW1NS was done early. PLAYANTE moved up fast on the outside after the start, took command in the stretch and held her advantage to the close without need of strong urging. MOMENTITO, well placed and a sharp factor throughout, made a good bid when settled for the drive, but could not get to the winner. HI MURT finished determinedly under punishment. AKRON-TOWN came to the outside entering the stretch, but could not better his position under vigorous handling. ELECTRICAL was never dangerous. GREENOCK FLAME had early speed, but swerved repeatedly in the stretch and lost all chance. MISS MONARCH bolted to the outside on the stretch turn and had to be pulled up. SIGN, a forward factor throughout, was taken to the outside for the drive and then could not better her position under good urging. MIRRORED was never dangerous and did rot like the muddy going. SOME COUNT, far back and outrun for three-quarters, came to the outside on the final turn and finished resolutely under punishment. FOXLEIGH went to the front at once, set the pace to the stretch and then faltered. BABY NORMA JOY was never a serious factor. MI-DUE, on the inside throughout, gave way in the stretch. SATIN ROLLS, a forward factor from the start, took command approaching the stretch and held on well under punishment thereafter, but could not withstand the winner. PETER TOKALON began slowly, worked his way up steadily to the final turn, then failed to better his position under good handling. DALLASITE did not respond when called upon in the drive. THE OBJECT set the pace the first half mile, then gave way. LOVE QUEST did not like the muddy going and sulked. GALLEY SWEEP had brief early speed.
