Platers Have Their Day At Sportsmans Course All Eight Events Given Over To Members of Claiming Division CICERO, ILL., May 13.— With the Sportsmans Park meeting rapidly drawing to a close, racing secretary Pat Galliger v/as forced to call off the scheduled feature for tomorrow s program. Thus the entire card of eight races will be composed of claiming events. The fifth and sixth races, both divided affairs, will share the spotlight. Ten horses will compete over the seven-eighths distance for a ,000 purse in each. Rusty. Gold, from the stable of C F. Wagner, who drew into the fifth event, appears to have a slight edge in this test, as she was returned the winner in her -last outing here over the same distance and will carry the same weight today. This daughter of Bostonian and Ruths Hope led all the way and finished five lengths in front of Highscope. The latter looks as the one to offer the most competition, as all of his previous races show that he can be counted on to give his best. Highscope will be required to pack 115 pounds. The sixth event may prove the most thrilling, as all the horses entered overnight have been hard-knocking speedsters. Light Tide, from the racing establishment of Mrs. J. L. Oglesby, rates as the possible public preference. This colt has one victory to his credit at the meeting in which he won at five furlongs by five lengths. The son of Sweeping Light and Cogay has the ability to go on and will prove a most dangerous factor.
